My festive December

Hello everyone ^_^/
here is another photoblog, this time for the month of December.
The end of the year turned out to be really busy for me.

First of all I took part in an art exhibition, which was a great experience. I will make a seperate detailed post about it at some point but here are some snaps from the event.

I enjoyed my country's beautiful landscapes and traditional architecture and finally had a white Christmas!

It was so much fun walking around and going shopping in the midst of all the light and decorations.

But the best part was definitely celebrating Christmas with my family ^_^

Even though I was quite busy, December was a great month all in all.
Thank you for taking a look at this post, I hope you enjoyed it ^_^

Gothic bling, a perfect combination!

Hello everyone ^_^/

the holidays are now over (unless you celebrate the Chinese New Year, in which case I envy you!) but I will show you a project I did before Christmas. I wanted to make a new deco case for my iPhone, but I wanted it to reflect my personal taste 100% So it had to be dark. And purple. And super sparkly too somehow!

After careful planning  I came up with a Steampunk Deco Gothic iPhone case! Yes ^_^
And here it is!

First I coated my case and added the main pieces. A Fleur de Lis, a skeleton cameo, wings and a key.

Then I carefully placed the Swarovski crystals, using grey and purple as my main colours.

Of course as you can see in the first photo, I added some cute phonestraps as well. If something isn't hanging from my phone, I find it to be empty somehow :o What do you think of the result? I think it fits me perfectly ^_^

And I will close this post with a couple of projects I did this week.

A deco flower purse hook/key chain for my mother

and a lipstick and pill case set for a friend.

If you would like to check more of my deco creations, you can always browse through my etsy shop ^_^

Let's welcome the year of the Dragon

Hello everyone ^_^/

Happy New Year! It is 2012, the year of the Dragon, according to the Chinese zodiac. The Dragon is a symbol of strength and good luck so I am expecting this year to bring great things for each and everyone of us and for humanity as a whole.

For the first post of the year and of this month I will continue with the monthly nail inspiration posts.
For January, inspiration comes from the January edition of Nail Up!, which is my favourite nail magazine.

Here are some nail art ideas based on the colours that are in for the season.

The snowflake design on the bottom right of the second picture was actually the inspiration for my Christmas manicure ^_^

So what do you think of this month's nail inspiration? Do you like these designs? Do you agree with the colours? Personally I fail to see mustard as a trendy colour, I would much more prefer a forest green one instead.

It's Christmas time!!!

Hello everyone ^_^/

I will start this post by wishing everyone a merry merry Christmas! Best wishes for you and your families!
I hope you are all enjoying this day with your loved ones ^_^

And here is my Christmas mani for this year. As it is snowing I wanted it to be snow themed.

I used some of the China Glaze Let it Snow collection as I found it to be appropriate.

My base was Blue Year's Eve. Then on some nails I sponged Icicle and on some I used Snow Globe. Finally I used some snow themed nail decals and my mani was ready ^_^

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone and make sure you have lots of fun <3

November in pictures

Hello everyone ^_^/

the final days of the exhibition are approaching fast and my schedule is as hectic as ever but here is a post I have been meaning to make this week (and never found the time). It is another photoblog, for the month of November.

The weather was still lovely so I spent a lot of time playing with B-chan in the garden ^_^

But the nights were chilly enough for a cozy evening by the fireplace.

I tried learning some cooking recipes from my mum, which were quite hard to make. Making fullo pastry for pies and cabbage rolls. I enjoy eating both of course but I fail at making them :o

I worked a lot on my crafts preparing for the exhibition...

But I never neglected my nails ^_^

NARS Night Series

Hello everyone ^_^/

Just two weeks are left for Christmas so I did a bit of holiday shopping. One of the top items on my wishlist was the whole NARS Night Series collection. I love the Night Series eyeshadows and have collected almost all of them over the years so as soon as I saw the eyeshadow palette and nail polishes I knew they had to be mine.

I was so excited when the package arrived!

Here is what was inside. The NARS Night Series Eyeshadow Palette and two nail polishes, Night Breed, a black creme with silver glitter, and Night Rider, a sparkly glittery light purple.

I am so in love with these two nail polishes right now <3
So of course I had to wear them on the spot. Application was perfect, as expected of NARS nail polishes, and you would be pleased to know that these are one coaters! I still applied two coats but one would have been just fine.

After wearing my nails like this for a couple of days, I wanted to spice them up a bit so I did a drip design using the same colours.

What do you think of this collection? Will you be getting anything from it? Are you a fan of NARS in general?

What I have been up to

Hello everyone ^_^/

As you might remember a few posts back I mentioned I was working on something very exciting.
Today I can finally reveal what it is. I will be taking part in an art exhibition in my hometown, showcasing my jewellery, nail and deco creations!

The exhibition opens on Saturday Dec 10 and will last for a week.
So for the last few weeks I have been working non stop making all sorts of preparations.
Here is a sneak preview of what has been going on over at my work bench lately.

This is so challenging and exciting for me, especially since deco is practically unknown here and this will be the first time it is properly exhibited in my area! So I want to do my best and present everything in the best possible way.

I will make a post about the exhibition with lots of photos and coverage when it is over.

For the time being back to work I go. I hope everyone has a nice evening ^_^
