Black and silver gradation with Anna Sui #003 nail polish

Hello everyone ^_^/

A quick post today as I am quite busy but I wanted to show you this black x silver gradation mani as soon as possible. But first, as you must have noticed, my giveaway is closed since Monday. I have already started verifying the entries and will announce the winner by the end of the week :)

Now on to the nails. I used a nail polish I really like, Anna Sui #003 (black with silver glitter) and for the gradient effect I used Savvy Brownie #4, a silver glitter.

Stars on silver, my first mani for 2012

Hello everyone ^_^/

This is something I should have posted earlier, as it is the first mani of the year.
One of my resolutions for 2012 is to use up as many of my beauty products as I can. That includes of course nail polishes and nail art supplies. I have a tendency to collect nail art stickers and to never use them because they are so cute. This has to change, so for this year I vowed to use as many as I can.

Putting that into effect here are the nails I did for the New Year. My theme was metal and stars.

Here is what I used.

My base colours were Stargazer silver chrome (which happens to be my first metallic nail polish, I have this bottle for over 10 years) and Models Own Thunder & Lightning. Then I added purple and black star decals and Models Own Purple Haze!

When I first took out all the bottles, I wasn't sure of the end result but my nails ended up looking fabulous and sparkly, so I can say the experiment was a success.

Now let's see how many nail polishes and nail decals will I be able to use up during the year XD

the Greek files #8 and a NOTW

Hello everyone ^_^/

today marks the end of a long weekend for us here and I have yet another version of the Greek files along with a NOTW.

A few weeks ago I picked up some nail colours from local brands to swatch.
Amongst them was Seventeen #501 a fabulous dark purple with silver glitter. It looked fun in the bottle and purple always catches my eye. But when I saw it on my nails, I was blown away!

It is one of the prettiest purple polishes I have ever owned. I applied two coats over base coat. The formula was perfect and I had full coverage with two coats. I didn't apply any top coat and it dried quite fast.

I liked the colour so much that I didn't want to take it off. So I decided to spice it up and keep it for the week (I usually do my nails once or maximum twice a week as I am quite busy most of the time). I went for a silver x purple combination to match the nail polish as best I could.

Here is what I used

Seventeen #501
Essence Blair
Essence silver stampy polish
Seche Vite top coat
Bundle Monster plates 225 and 211 from the new set.

And this is the final result.

I think that #500 is one of the prettiest colours in the Seventeen collection and definitely my favourite purple right now.

For a chance to win some Greek nail polishes along with other goodies don't forget to enter my ongoing giveaway ^_^

Accidental holo or an Etude House mani

Hello everyone ^_^/

how are you all doing? It's late at night here but I am sneaking a quick post before going to bed to share my accidental holo mani, as I like to call it.

A couple of days ago while going through my stash trying to decide which nail polish to use next I spotted a batch of untried Etude House polishes. Being in the mood for something purple I picked PP007 and BR003 to use as an accent colour.

As I started painting my nails I realised that PP007 is actually a fabulous purple holo! The effect is not as intense as say the China Glaze OMG collection but it looks fabulous none the less. The formula was great for both colours and with two coats I had perfect coverage. A coat of Seche didn't diminish the holo effect but made my nails look even shinier. BR003 is a sparkly silvery gold, if that makes any sense. I am very pleased with both colours and absolutely loving this manicure ^_^

If you get a chance to get your hands on these polishes, go for it. They are amazing! I got mine through ebay, just search for Etude House nail polish or Korean nail polish.

I have tags and awards and many more things to post and comments to leave, but all that will have to wait until the weekend when I have more time. Until then I hope you enjoyed this lovely mani! Have a lovely day/night all of you <3

GOSH Holographic

Hello everyone ^_^/

December is finally here, which means less than a month for Christmas.
And yet here we are having maybe the warmest winter I can ever remember.
20C today, I cannot believe it *rolls eyes*

I am so jealous of all the other European countries where it's snowing, I want the same here aaaaargh!

Oh well, since there is nothing I can do about that, how about some nail swatches of the lovely GOSH Holographic nail polish. I have been reading about this polish for quite some time, yet it was impossible to find at a reasonable price. So when I found a good deal at ebay I didn't think twice.

Last week this pretty polish arrived so here are some swatches.
As I wanted to see it in it's full glory I didn't use any base or top coat, just two coats of the polish.

After wearing it for four days I wanted to change my manicure but before that I decided to try some of my Sally Hansen and Essence nail art pens on it to see how they would look. So I doodled on my nails a bit. Darling found it very funny and is still teasing me about it XD

I have to say GOSH holographic really lived up to my expectations. It is a super shiny holographic polish, it looked perfect with two coats and for the four days I was wearing it, it lasted great. Plus it looks even better when I doodle on it. That's definitely a plus!

*edit* to remind you of my 400 followers giveaway that is ending on December 10. There will be two winners, so if you haven't entered already, now is your chance ;)

Orly Rage & Shine

Hello everyone ^_^/

How are you today? I am totally freaking out as I am starting a series of dreadful dentist visits. I am so so scared of dentists and even though my regular dentist is very nice I am still scared everytime I have to go. I don't think I will ever get over it.

So in order to cheer myself up I have some shiny foil FX nail polish swatches to share.

A few weeks ago I did this manicure using Orly's Rage & Shine from the Foil FX Collection. I love these polishes as they are super shiny and the looked fabulous with just two coats and without needing a top coat.

I have Rage on my index finger and Shine on all the rest.

If you like shiny polishes I highly recommend these beauties. I have the golden colour, Luxe, as well and I plan to swatch that too at some point.

I hope you all have a lovely and dentist free day :)

My cracked mani, let me show you it

Good morning everyone ^_^/

I hope you're all having a lovely day.
I am getting ready to get out in the heat (eeeeek) but before I want to share this lovely manicure with you all.

Ever since I saw the BYS cracked polishes, I wanted one so badly. Thanks to my dear 'Chelle I now have a black one in my hands.
So of course I had to try it :D

I used Snazzle, which is a silver foil as a base. As soon as my base polish dried I applied a coat of BYS black cracked polish and waited. I was so excited as I watched the effect appear on my nails. After this coat was dry too, I applied a coat of Seche Vite (which didn't seem to work well with this polish though as the cracked parts started falling off the next day). I will try with another top coat next time.

I really loved this manicure and I am definitely gonna try it with all sorts of differect polishes as based. It looks amazing and I got a lot of compliments :D

Only a few hours left until my giveaway is closed, I am so excited ^_^

Ulta3 snazzle

Hello everyone ^_^/

How are you today?

I bring you more nail swatches from my awesome nail swap. Today I have this awesome silver foil called snazzle.
Generally I have a thing for foils, especially silver ones so this is definitely a colour I will wear a lot. Two coats without top coat and here is what it looks like.

Also don't forget to enter my giveaway if you haven't already. It ends tomorrow :)

SIlver nails

Hello everyone ^_^/

A few weeks back I bought a new silver colour by Erre Due so I wanted to try it out.

At first after applying two coats I used some PA nail stickers with gemstones.

But as expected they didn't last for more than a couple of days so I decided to keep the silver base and try something different.

After carefully removing the sticker leftovers, I used my konad plates and some black polish and this is what I came up with.

Black sakura :D

I really like how they turned out in the end.

Polka Dots

Hello everyone ^_^/

As summer is finally upon us, I am in a cheeky mood and getting more and more into polka dots.

I've been trying all sorts of different polka dot designs so I decided to share some of my results.

Right now I have a black x silver polka dot design on my nails and this is how I did it.

I used the following products.

Black "Goth" polish and the silver from the foil series by Orly, China Glaze base and top coats, a dot brush and for the finish OPI fast dry spray (I am saved by this product because usually I keep ruining my manicures by randomly touching my nails here and there).

After applying the base coat I painted my nails to look like this.

Waited for them to dry a bit and then using the dot brush I did the polka dots(if you don't have one, a toothpick will produce the same effect ^_^).

Waited a bit for the dots to dry too and then applied top coat and used the spray too. This is the final result.

I also did the same design on my friend's nails, using pastel colours (mint and pink) by H&M and Anna Sui and this is how it came out.

So the design works well with all sorts of colour combinations and it is very simple to do as well.

Next week I am gonna try more styles so stay tuned ^_^
