Happy New Year with bling nails

Hello everyone ^_^/

usually my first post if the month is a nail art inspiration post but as this is the first post of the New Year I wanted to start a bit differently (the nail inspiration post will be up in a couple of days). Let me start off by wishing you all a Happy New Year. May 2013 be a year full of happiness, joy, health and everything you desire. 2013 is the year of the snake so I wanted my nails to have a snake like theme. I looked for nail polishes that would give my nails a scale effect in red and gold colours to bring good luck for the New Year.
I ended up using Change and Ruby Red Ruby by Lynnderella.

Hello everyone and Happy Halloween *^_^*

For today I have been saving a super kawaii manicure to show you, with a theme that I think fits the day perfectly. What is that you might ask? Why, Alice in Wonderland of course!

Forest green and purple nails with a bit of sparkle

Hello everyone (^-^)/

Today I want to show you the mani I had while in Germany. Since it was the first time I had some KIKO and P2 polishes, I wanted to try them out.

I used Kiko 347, a beautiful forest green and P2 Poetic, a pretty purple. For a bit of a twist I used Kiko 270 on a couple of nails.

Although it was a simple look, I got a lot of compliments.

My friend T-chan loved it so much that she wanted it on her nails too but in pink and red. So I used Essence Flamingo Rose and Divalicious Red instead.

What do you think? (^∇^)

the Greek files #5

Hello everyone ^_^/

this is another installment of the Greek files, the fifth one and the first for 2011.

Today I have for you two nail polishes by Erre Due that were included in Vogue magazine a couple of months ago. They have no names or numbers, one is red and one is pink.

First up is the red

This is two coats without base or top coat. I have to admit I am not really a red nails person (unless we are talking holo) but this is a lovely red creme that I am sure many ladies will enjoy. The formula was perfect and very easy to work with and I got full coverage with just two coats.

And here is the pink

This is also two coats without base or top coat. Now although I really like this colour and the formula of this nail polish, unfortunatelly as you can see it is quite sheer with two coats. I think I would need a couple more to get full coverage. I am thinking though that this colour would be perfect as a layering base. I will definitely try it out!

Out of the two, I have to admit that my vote goes to the red. Generally I don't like sheer polishes, I want perfect coverage with two layers max! Apart from that though, both polishes were great and definitely a great deal if you think they were a freebie with a magazine!

This is what I have for you today, I hope you enjoyed these two fun colours ^_^

Red holographic manicure

Hello everyone ^_^/

Lately I've been looking for the perfect red holographic nail polish. I cannot say I am a big fan of red but for some reason a red holographic polish seemed very appealing. After browsing around a bit I decided to get Prize by Nubar. Here is my current mani using exactly that nail polish.

To make the manicure more interesting I used TiNS the Mars on my ring finger. It is a dark red glittery colour. Although this mani is quite simple, I ended up liking it a lot. I used two coats of each colour and a coat of Sehce on top.

Prize is an awesome holographic red and it looks stunning in the sunlight. Here is a pic I took with my iPhone.

Do you like red holographic colours? Which one would you recommend?

A glittery Christmas manicure with TiNS and Anna Sui

Hello everyone ^_^/

With just 11 days left for Christmas, here is another Christmas manicure.
To be honest I did this quite some time ago but as it turned out too Christmasy I was saving it for the holiday season.

This look is quite easy to make and I actually got a lot of compliments on it when I had it on.
Here is what I used.

Anna Sui 318, a lovely pink shimmery polish.
TiNS the Holiday Cheer, a fabulous green glitter polish
Anna Sui base and top coat
Natural look Gel top coat
Rhinestones by Viva La Nails

After applying base coat and two coats of each colour on different fingers, I made diagonal stripes with the TiNS polish and using top coat and the rhinestones I made flowers on the other fingers. I used just the glitter polish on my thumb and didn't put anything else on that nail as the colour is quite spectacular on it's own.
I sealed everything with a layer of natural look Gel top coat and voilĂ !
