Nails, nails and more nails + a cool deal

Hello everyone ^_^/

Wow, it's been almost two weeks since my last post but I have a good excuse. I am working for something very exciting. I cannot reveal what it is yet but soon, very soon, I will ^_^

In the meantime, here are the nails I've been sporting for these last couple of weeks.

First I wore my favourite colour from the Color Club Molten Metals collection, Lumin-Icent. It's a lovely light blue metallic colour which is perfect for this time of year. Perfect coverage in two coats is definitely a plus ^_^

After a couple of days of crafting non stop there was some minor chipping. But I loved the colour so much that I decided a glitter gradation mani would be the best solution. I used Color Club Sugarplum Fairy and Jingle Jangle from the Beyond the Mistletoe collection and voila! My mani was saved!

Don't you just love gradation nails? It's one of my favourite looks as it's easy to make and always looks glamorous!

Next up I went for my favourite colour, purple! Here is Etude House LUCIDarling in Purple Satin. I had to use three coats for this one to get perfect coverage.

And last but not least, here is the colour I have on right now. China Glaze Marry a Millionaire from the Eye Candy 3D glitter collection. I was so excited when I first heard about these that I just had to get them asap! And I definitely wasn't disappointed! It was really hard choosing which colour to try first but I just had to go with the purple one in the end XD

The photo just doesn't do this beauty justice. This is one of the most interesting glitters I have ever owned. Purple mini bar glitter with a mix of green and silver. Absolutely fantastic!!!

Before I close this post I would like to inform you about a great deal that is on right now at over at Viva La Nails. There is a Black Friday 25% off deal running. Just enter code BLACK during check out to get 25% off your order.

I certainly won't be passing this one up!

My Pink Halloween manicure

Hello everyone and Happy Halloween!

Today I have a manicure to show you that I was saving especially for today, as it turned out to be my favourite Halloween mani. Wanting to escape the usual colours I decided to use black and magenta instead ^_^

C

The nail polishes I used were Sally Hansen Black Out, Etude House LudiDarling Shimmering Magenta Pink and Kleancolor Chunky Holo Fuchsia. I also used some Pa nail stickers that I got in Japan a while ago.

Please excuse the tip wear. I took the photos on the third day I had this one. Sadly this mani didn't last as much as my other ones, which was a bit disappointing.

Here is a thumb detail. I really liked the black kitties ^_^

Do you like this colour combination for Halloween? What I enjoyed most on this mani was the way the Kleancolor holo looked layered over the other colours. Especially in the sunlight it was fabulous!

I am going to close this post with a photo of my favourite location for Halloween, Roppongi Hills in Tokyo.
This photo was taken on the top of the Mori tower and you can even see Tokyo tower in the back.

Accidental holo or an Etude House mani

Hello everyone ^_^/

how are you all doing? It's late at night here but I am sneaking a quick post before going to bed to share my accidental holo mani, as I like to call it.

A couple of days ago while going through my stash trying to decide which nail polish to use next I spotted a batch of untried Etude House polishes. Being in the mood for something purple I picked PP007 and BR003 to use as an accent colour.

As I started painting my nails I realised that PP007 is actually a fabulous purple holo! The effect is not as intense as say the China Glaze OMG collection but it looks fabulous none the less. The formula was great for both colours and with two coats I had perfect coverage. A coat of Seche didn't diminish the holo effect but made my nails look even shinier. BR003 is a sparkly silvery gold, if that makes any sense. I am very pleased with both colours and absolutely loving this manicure ^_^

If you get a chance to get your hands on these polishes, go for it. They are amazing! I got mine through ebay, just search for Etude House nail polish or Korean nail polish.

I have tags and awards and many more things to post and comments to leave, but all that will have to wait until the weekend when I have more time. Until then I hope you enjoyed this lovely mani! Have a lovely day/night all of you <3

the Greek files #1

Hello everyone ^_^/

I hope you all had a good start of the week.
Today is a day of new beginnings for some people very dear to me and I wish them all the best with all my heart.
So I will start a new feature in this blog too.

The Greek files. Through this feature I will present to you nail polishes that are available in Greece and I haven't seen a lot in other blogs. They might be Greek brands or other brands that I have discovered while browsing various stores around here.

So for the first instalment I will present to you a couple of lilacs (Adamo 86 and Erre Due 228) and compare them to other brands to see the difference. These are the polishes I am going to compare.

From left to right we have Eyeko lilac, Etude House PP901, Erre Due 228, Adamo 86 and OPI Do you Lilac It?

As my hand is still injured I used a nail wheel for the comparison. All the polishes are two coats without top coat under natural light and are applied in the same order as the bottles.

The colours look very similar in the bottles but they are completely different when applied on the nail wheel.
Eyeko, Etude House and Erre Due look quite similar, Adamo is more to the grey side while OPI is the more intense one.

What do you think of these polishes?
I hope you enjoyed this new feature :)

Etude House LUCIDarling glittering Pink Jewel

Hello everyone ^_^/

August is finally here which means summer is in full swing and my vacation is drawing closer and closer yay!!!

The only thing I am not enjoying is the excruciating heat but oh well. Can't have it all I guess XD

So today I have for you swatches of a very pretty colour, Etude House glitter Pink Jewel from the LUCIDarling series. I ordered these in a batch a couple of months ago after hearing raving reviews from some of my Asian friends.

I have to admit that I was impressed. Application was excellent and the colour was super sparkly and opaque even with one coat. I still applied two for a full blown effect. Here it is, without topcoat.

Now I wouldn't really call this a glitter but the truth is that it sparkles a lot. The photos don't do it justice but I did the best I could to capture the effect.

I usually don't like pink on my nails but I really liked this one. I will be swatching more of the same series soon :D
