a-england Tess D'Urbervilles

Time is really scarce these days but one of my aims for 2015 is to post more on my blog and I am loving my current nails so much that I wanted to share. A lot of nail polish is going around in this house but I decided to rediscover some older favourites. And as I always go for the dark shades first, here is Tess D'Urbervilles, from the Gothic Beauties series by a-england.

Inspired by the Thomas Hardy novel Tess of the d'Urbervilles, this very interesting nail polish that looks black at first but reveals a dark green shimmer under the light.

Two coats and top coat is all that's needed to bring this beauty to life.

But you know me. I always want something extra as I find plain painted nails a tad boring.

So I decided to use metallic nail embellishments on my thumb and ring finger to make my mani more interesting. A good decision it was as it went really well with the colour and made the green underneath pop. I used two more layers of top coat to keep them secure and 5 days later my nails still look great.

What do you think of this colour dear readers? Do you own any of the Gothic Beauties? Or have you read the novel that inspired this colour?
