My Pink Halloween manicure

Hello everyone and Happy Halloween!

Today I have a manicure to show you that I was saving especially for today, as it turned out to be my favourite Halloween mani. Wanting to escape the usual colours I decided to use black and magenta instead ^_^

The nail polishes I used were Sally Hansen Black Out, Etude House LudiDarling Shimmering Magenta Pink and Kleancolor Chunky Holo Fuchsia. I also used some Pa nail stickers that I got in Japan a while ago.

Please excuse the tip wear. I took the photos on the third day I had this one. Sadly this mani didn't last as much as my other ones, which was a bit disappointing.

Here is a thumb detail. I really liked the black kitties ^_^

Do you like this colour combination for Halloween? What I enjoyed most on this mani was the way the Kleancolor holo looked layered over the other colours. Especially in the sunlight it was fabulous!

I am going to close this post with a photo of my favourite location for Halloween, Roppongi Hills in Tokyo.
This photo was taken on the top of the Mori tower and you can even see Tokyo tower in the back.

Orly in my city? Yay!!!

Hello everyone ^_^/

Just a few days ago, I was enjoying a nightly stroll around town and came across something totally unexpected. What was it you may ask and how does it relate to this post here?

Well, it was this!

An Orly Birds Of a Feather collection display! You can imagine my surprise, as I had no idea this brand was available in my city ^_^

So of course I had to go when the store was open and check out the selection!
I was not disappointed as they had the whole collection available, yay!

Having all these lovely colours, it was quite hard for me to decide on just a few but in the end I picked up 4 nail polishes.

From left to right, Liquid Vinyl, Night Owl, Lucky Duck and of course Fowl Play. They had other brands available but I decided to focus on Orly.
The owner was very nice and we chatted for a while about nails and stuff so my trip was double the fun.
I already have Fowl Play on my nails but that will be the subject for another post.

And for my Greek readers.

Easy nails for Halloween

Hello everyone ^_^/

I have been meaning to make this post earlier in the week but I couldn't find the time, but finally here it is ^_^
I want to show you a couple of very simple Halloween manis, perfect for those who don't have enough time, like me.

The first one is a black and orange polka dot manicure. Very easy to achieve with a dotting tool or a toothpick.

I reversed the colours for an accent finger, to make this a little more fun. I used the orange Claire's nail polish I got from Moni and Sally Hansen's Black Out.

Even though it is a simple manicure, it is quite fun.

For the second one I wanted to use some of the fabulous Halloween polishes from China Glaze. So I started with two coats of It's Alive, a fantastic green glitter.

Then on some nails I drew stitches with black nail polish and on some nails I applied China Glaze Black Mesh. And here is the final result.

What do you think about these? Do you paint your nails in seasonal themes or just go with whatever you like?
I hope I can find time to do a more full on Halloween mani, as I have many ideas in my head. Let's see how that works out XD

For the time being don't forget to enter my running giveaway for a chance to win two Seventeen nail polishes.

A sweet surprise can brighten even the darkest day

Hello everyone ^_^/

A few days ago as I was checking my mail, I came across a very sweet surprise.
Something unexpected was within the packages. It was mail from my sweet friend Moni who runs the blog Beauty Oshaberi (you should totally check it out, especially if you are a fan of Japanese culture and beauty (^_^)v )

I literally squeed with joy when I opened the package. Moni knows me so well ^_____^
The items she included where one cutest than the other! Fantastic polishes and cute Hello Kitty goods plus beauty products that I have never tried before! So exciting!!!
But what made me the happiest was the gesture, the feeling that I have a friend who went to all the trouble mostly to bring a smile in my face. This is a feeling that I treasure <3 This sweet surprise has really brightened my week to say the least.

Thank you Moni-chan (and 'Chelle, you know why), you two are a fabulous gang and I am proud and happy to have such fantastic friends as you <3

the Greek files #9 and a giveaway

Hello everyone ^_^/

Back to scheduled posting, I have another version of the Greek files. In 2011 Seventeen Cosmetics released a professional nail polish line called Supreme with some very pretty colours. Also following the crackle trend they have their own line called Shock.

I wanted to try both these lines so I picked a colour from each. I chose Seventeen Supreme #19 a lovely purple and Seventeen Shock 1004 a metallic shade.

First I applied two coats of #19 over basecoat.

The colour is beautiful and the polish applies perfectly. One coat would have been enough but I applied a second one for extra shine.

After it was dry I added a coat of Shock 1004.

I really liked how this cracked, I think Seventeen did a great job with this line!

As I found this a very interesting combination, I picked up an extra bottle of each colour to do a giveaway for my lovely readers. The giveaway is open internationally and will last until October 31.
I will keep the rules super simple this time. All you have to do is be a public follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post saying you are in. To protect your privacy, please do not leave emails in the comments. I will announce the winner on my blog in early November and then the winner can email me with their details to claim the prize. If the winner does not contact me within 48 hours I will pick someone else. Simple as that.

I hope you like this prize and good luck to those who decide to enter ^_^

Calling out a thief!

Hello everyone ^_^/

I wish I had a more cheerful post today but unfortunatelly I found out there is someone basically ripping off my work.

As you might know I have an Etsy store where I sell handpainted nail tips amongst other things.

So this person thought it was a good idea to not only steal my product photos but also claim that they are selling them!!! They made a facebook page and are basically scamming people. I already reported them on facebook and I realised they are stealing from other bloggers too. So take a look and see if they have stolen some of your photos too. I am waiting to see how facebook will handle this and will keep you updated.

after all your kind help the photos have been taken down. Thank you so much to everyone who helped out, I really appreciate your support <3

October nail inspiration, Halloween

Hello everyone ^_^/

October is one of my favourite months of the year for many reasons. The weather is finally getting bearable and of course we have Halloween. Even though we don't really have Halloween in Greece (we have the canrival which is much later) it is one of my favourite "holidays".

So this month's nail inspiration is Halloween themed.

Here are some interesting nail art designs from old Nail Max issues I have lying around in the house.

I love these Girls Rock themed nails. Especially the cherry one is to die for (must try this one asap).

And here are a couple of step by step Halloween nail art tutorials that are quite easy to achieve.

Do you like any of these nail art ideas? Will you try a Halloween themed manicure this year?

p.s. you can click on the pictures to see larger versions.
